With fixed, signed contracts the MSP was experiencing decreases I revenues and looked to WiTuners WLAN Performance and Optimization solutions for help. WiTuners Continuous Audit and Tuning (CAT) software was implemented at a number of customer sites by identifying the controller IP address and connecting to the customers VPNs. CAT audited a number of WLAN parameters in real time and allowed for the automatic or manual optimization of the network to ensure maximum capacity with minimal maintenance.

WiTuners Continuous Audit and Tuning software provided the MSP with the flexibility to monitor customer WLANs for a number of functions such as traffic load, call capacity, signal strength, channel utilization and more. Plus the network optimization goals can be tailored based on a varying number of parameters that go beyond monitoring just the WLAN’s RF. WiTuners CAT solution provided the MSP with a solution to meet the requirements of a diverse cross section of their customer bse.

By implementing WiTuners CAT application the MSP was able to identify and resolve performance issues before they occurred resulting in a marked decrease in the number of related calls and trouble tickets and the need to dispatch network engineers to customer sites. It is anticipated that CAT will reduce the number of performance related trouble tickets by 30% and the onsite requirements of engineers by 1-2 days.

In addition, CAT collected data for trend analysis purposes and provided information regarding the identification of rogue, underperforming and dead access points. This information provided the MSP with data that could be used in a consultative environment with customers which increased revenue opportunities.
